About us

VisioLab is AI-powered self-checkout for stadiums, arenas, university canteens, corporate campuses, and more. Founded in 2019 by Tim Niekamp and Iwo Gernemann, we're headquartered in Osnabrück with a US office in Boston. 400+ active systems, 3 continents, Series A closed. Our clients include teams from the NFL, NBA, MLS, and NHL.
Every year, millions of people move faster through food service venues because of what we build.

The role

We're building the financial backbone of a fast-growing international startup and we're looking for someone who wants to be part of that from the ground up. Whether you're joining as an intern (with the option to write your Bachelor's or Master's thesis with us) or as a working student, this is a hands-on position with real responsibility from day one. You'll sit inside a small, high-output Finance team and work on projects that feed directly into reports in front of our leadership team and investors.

What you'll do

You'll work directly alongside our Finance team on projects that actually matter. No busywork, no coffee runs.
  • Support ongoing finance projects across the team
  • Jump into ad hoc data analysis (budget vs. actuals, KPIs prep, and investor reporting support)
  • Own smaller projects end to end, with guidance when you need it and autonomy when you're ready for it
  • Build out our inventory documentation, including hardware tracking and loss processes
  • Lay the groundwork for upcoming ESG reporting requirements
  • Help build internal reports that land in front of leadership and investors
  • Spot inefficiencies in our finance workflows and bring your ideas to fix them — we listen
  • Be part of building a clean, scalable Finance and Controlling infrastructure at a company that's growing fast

What you'll bring

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field (if you're a Bachelor's student, you're at least in your third semester)
  • Comfortable working with numbers and are confident using Google Sheets
  • High attention to detail - you check twice before you send
  • Structured, reliable, and able to work independently
  • Fluent in German and confident in English for day-to-day team collaboration.
Bonus points for knowledge of US and/or German accounting or tax and experience with Stripe, HubSpot, DATEV, or similar tools

What We Can Offer You

  • A small HQ team with high intensity and real impact. A team that values good work and gives honest feedback
  • Real ownership from day one - your projects, not just support tasks
  • A front-row seat to how a modern, international finance team is built
  • Direct mentorship from our finance team
  • Exposure to a full fintech toolstack: Stripe, Ramp, Anrok, Hyperline, and more.
  • Flexible hours that work around your studies
  • And if you're looking to write your thesis - let's talk
